Where to find us

The Stonewall Mission Church holds a casual attire worship service each Sunday at 6:00 PM in Howe Hall at St. Ann's Episcopal Church. We begin our service by lighting the candle of God's presence, as a reminder that God calls us together, and that God's light shines on everyone.
We sing a wide variety of songs from the Christian traditions. These sacred songs help us to focus on the presence of God, and to share comfort and strength with one another.
We share our prayers of joy and concern with one another. One may choose to say a brief prayer or simply state a prayer request, leading the congregation by saying "God..." The congregation completes the prayer by saying "...hear our prayers."
The Community Homily is a time for witness to and testimony of our individual experiences of God's presence. Our pastor frequently asks us "What is God doing in your lives this week?"
We take an offering each week. The first third of all monies collected goes toward ministries of compassion and mercy. Our pastor often says "Give what you are able to give—and it doesn't have to be money." Each of our lives is an offering to the glory of God and to the strength and comfort of others.
Our congregation practices an open table. Anyone who is present at the time of the meal can share in the bread and cup if they choose. Since we are all ministers to each other, we pass the bread and the cup around the "Great Circle." The person offering says "The bread from Heaven and the cup of the new covenant." The one receiving dips a piece of bread into the cup before taking it. Some choose to say "Thanks be to God."
Anointing with oil is a practice dating back to the early church. It is a reminder of who and whose we are, and who we are becoming. It symbolizes our unbreakable bond with God, and God's never-ending love for us. We anoint one another, saying "The spirit of God is upon you, and is making you whole."
After the Eucharist, we pass the peace to one another. Some choose to hug, while others prefer a warm handshake.
The first Sunday of each month, we have Potluck Supper immediately following our worship service. On other Sundays, a group of us usually goes out for dinner.

You can find directions to St. Ann's on the location page.

We welcome visitors!
